A Handshake

I met with “Joe” yesterday.  He was sitting near the entry to the soup kitchen, and I reached out to shake his right hand.  I hadn’t noticed…until he extended his prostatic hand, a griping device toward me.  So, I asked: “How do we do this?”

Witness of Love and Kindness

This past week of Valentine’s Day offered significant opportunity to witness love and kindness. Earlier in the week, we let the Rosa Parks children make valentine cookies for their families as well as loving heart cards.

Random Act of Kindness

I had a delightful conversation over breakfast in the soup kitchen today with several of the guests, and one of them made a comment about her boss.  She works part time at a party store, and she said her boss is a tyrant and gives everyone a hard time.

A couple from the soup kitchen just came into my office and looked at my wall.
