Roaring in like a Lion

March is roaring in like a lion with the weather being cold and brisk. However, at Medbury we are standing tall as the building is being remodeled. The compliments from guests, workers, volunteers, other service agencies, and student interns are a roar of satisfaction in our ears.

Each area is being prepared and it involves the movement of all in the building to get the job done. Cooperation is at an all time high!

March is national Social Work Month and the theme this year is “Social Work Paves the Way for Change”.

MSW student intern Monique Gaines has had 20 different quotes made up that we will be placing in positions for motivation. We are having the quotes laminated.

March is also the month of National Women’s History, Red Cross, and National Nutrition.

Also for your information, Wayne State University School of Social Work is having its 9th annual Diversity Lecture on March 26, 2015 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Community Arts Auditorium. The name of the lecture is, "What Have We Seen with Our Own Eyes? A Social Work Perspective for addressing the Life Course Challenges Facing African American Males."

I am looking forward to attending.
