Anthony
& Darlene Soave
2004 SOCK Chairpersons
Anthony
L. Soave is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and founder
of Soave Enterprises L.L.C., a privately held, Detroit-headquartered
company comprised of numerous holdings in the real estate
development, metals recycling, industrial services,
beverage distribution, automotive retailing and transportation
industries among others. A lifelong Detroiter, Mr. Soave
was born and raised just a few blocks from his present
corporate offices at 3400 East Lafayette.
Mr. Soave’s entrepreneurial acumen and respected
leadership extend beyond his success in creating business
ventures. Today, Soave Enterprises selectively provides
growth capital to companies and individuals with promising
ideas and compelling potential. Soave operates in several
states including Virginia, Ohio, Florida, Missouri,
Texas and Kansas among others, but Michigan, and Detroit
in particular, has always been the center of it all.
Anthony and his wife, Darlene, are staunch supporters
of the city and the neighborhood, and have happily expanded
their generosity to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in this
its 75th year. The Solanus Casey Center, Capuchin Monastery
and Meldrum Soup Kitchen are very near to Soave Enterprises’
headquarters, so they have been in a perfect position
to observe the wonderful services provided. The Soaves’
know that the Soup Kitchen is one of Detroit’s
true assets. The Friars are always there for the needy
and working poor who require a helping hand, a healthy
meal and a warm heart. The neighborhood has been uplifted
simply by the Capuchins’ presence and through
their continued outreach to those they serve.
In
addition to involvement with the Capuchin Soup Kitchen,
Mr. Soave serves on the College for Creative Studies
Board of Directors, and he and Darlene are longtime
supporters of the Michigan Opera Theatre, Detroit Institute
of Arts, Matrix Human Services and many other charitable
and civic organizations benefiting the Detroit area.
The
couple has two adult daughters, Andrea and Angelique,
both graduates of Loyola University in Chicago.
