Joseph & His Class

A couple of weeks ago, a group of students came from a suburban school. They were 4th and 5th graders. The kids were packed with energy and delighted in serving the whole dining room with their hospitality and social skills well tuned. I learned from one of the teachers that Joseph, one of the 5th graders, made a statement to his class. Some of the students were afraid that they’d miss their Christmas party by coming to the soup kitchen. So, Joseph got up in front of the class and said: “I just want to tell you that if you are worried about missing your Christmas party, then you should stop and reflect and think about what is really important.” We had about 30 students here to serve! Thank you, Joseph. Your parents picked a good name for you!
