The Season of Planting

The season of planting has started. We had our first garden planning meeting last week. It will soon be time for cool crop planting and seeds of sunflowers soon after that. Whenever I think of planting, I am reminded of Cardinal Dearden’s famous words: “Unless the seed falls to the ground and dies, it remains a seed. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. This is what we are about. We plant the seeds that one day will grow. We water seeds already planted, knowing that they hold future promise…” So let’s keep planting.
