The Story of Jonah

As I was eating breakfast today, Tyrone (not his real name) came and sat at the table.  He began saying that he understands now that challenges in life are good for him because they make him stronger.  He cited the story of Jonah and said that he feels like Jonah when he faces obstacles.  He just went through surgery for his eye and said that God did the healing.  When the doctors wanted to do more surgery, they did not find the tumor there.  Tyrone said, “I know; it’s because God healed me.”  He said that he learned that God’s time is not his time, and when he insists on doing (or not doing) something that he wants, he winds up in the “belly of the whale.”  When he understands what God is doing for him, things go better. - Br.
