The Capuchin Soup Kitchen serves people experiencing poverty, homelessness and challenging circumstances from seven locations on Detroit's east-side.

Meldrum Community Center

The Capuchin Soup Kitchen’s Meldrum site is located one block from the original soup kitchen location on Mt. Elliott and serves the chronically poor. Approximately 600 meals a day are served at the Meldrum Kitchen.

Conner Community Center

The Conner Kitchen was opened in early 1998 in part as a response to Michigan’s welfare-to-work initiative. Located in one of the initiative’s pilot areas, the Conner Kitchen serves working families and seniors.

On the Rise Bakery and Café

Welcome to On The Rise Bakery & Café, a program of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Our bakers have recently been released from prison or have completed a substance use disorder treatment program. They truly want to change their lives.

Jefferson House

The Capuchin Soup Kitchen also sponsors Jefferson House,  a twelve-bed, residential treatment facility for indigent males seeking to reclaim their lives from addictions.

Earthworks Urban Farm

The Capuchin Soup Kitchen’s Earthworks Urban Farm is a 1.25-acre certified organic farm located on the east side of Detroit. We seek to build a just, beautiful food system through education, inspiration, and community development.

Deo Gratias Ministries

Deo Gratias Ministries is a program of the Felician Sisters offering a café, food pantry, community garden and much more. The Capuchin Soup Kitchen provides to-go meals, a social worker and security services to guests of Deo Gratias Ministries.
