Joseph & His Class

A couple of weeks ago, a group of students came from a suburban school. They were 4th and 5th graders. The kids were packed with energy and delighted in serving the whole dining room with their hospitality and social skills well tuned.

Soup Kitchen Passenger

“Did someone leave some dirty socks back here?” The question came from a soup kitchen passenger in the back seat of the car I drive.  No, that didn’t happen, but a guest did leave milk in the trunk, which leaked out, spoiled, and left a smell that was hard to get rid of!

Charism Day

Today at the soup kitchen we had what we call a “Charism Day.”  We took eight hours with seven of our “newer” employees to reflect with them about the charism of St. Francis and the work we share with these new partners in the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

Tyrone

I was walking in the cemetery across from the monastery, and I saw someone at the grave of “Tyrone.” I stopped to talk with him.
