On Monday, April 27, 2026, Buddy’s Pizza will host the 50th annual Slice for Life, supporting Capuchin Soup Kitchen with a donation of 20% of dine-in and carry-out sales from all locations statewide.
As Buddy’s longest-standing charitable partner, Capuchin Soup Kitchen is honored to celebrate this half-century milestone with a community tradition that has helped nourish our neighbors for generations.
When you enjoy Buddy’s Pizza on April 27, you help support Capuchin Soup Kitchen’s mission of feeding bodies, nourishing spirits, and strengthening Detroit communities.
This year, Buddy’s is also introducing a special, limited-time Buddy’s + Capuchin Veggie Collection, inspired by the Earthworks Urban Farm program. Throughout the month of April, $1 from every Eastern Market Veggie Pizza and every Earthworks Garden Veggie Salad sold at all Buddy’s Pizza locations will benefit Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
Since 1976, Buddy’s Pizza has contributed more than $4 million through Slice for Life to support the life-changing work of Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Those funds help connect Detroit residents with nutritious meals, clothing, employment services, children’s programming, and other vital resources.
In addition to the annual fundraiser, Buddy’s also supports Capuchin Soup Kitchen year-round through weekly pizza donations served at our meal sites.
Last year alone, Slice for Life raised more than $100,000 through a combination of sales proceeds, customer and staff donations, and online gifts.
